Meet the Humans

Behind every rescue is a team of people who pour their hearts, souls and time into caring for and sharing the love of the rescue. Reptile Invasion is no different! We have an incredible team of people who help to share their passion of reptiles with everyone they meet. So while you get introduced to many extraordinary creatures at our events, please know that the humans are pretty great too!

:Favorite Reptile: Bell Phase Lace Monitor

Dylan has had 20 years working with reptiles. His favorite reptile is a Bell Phase Lace Monitor. He ran into Jess and Brent and she told us to show up to the next event and he’s been coming ever since. Favorite part of volunteering is sharing info and understanding of reptiles as well as providing info to other owners/future owners to benefit the health and welfare of their reptiles. Currently he has 1 Crested Gecko, 4 Bearded Dragons, 1 Columbian Boa, 1 Red Tegu, and 1 Savannah Monitor.

DeAnna

DeAnna

Favorite Reptile: I can't pick a favorite all the others will feel left out!

DeAnna aka Mimzy’s mom. I have known Jess for roughly 7 seven years. We met doing dog rescue and just clicked. Then along came Brent and Reptile Invasion. I’ve had the pleasure of watching their passion and dream become a reality. For the last 10 years I have been heavily involved in dog and cat rescue. For the better part of 20 years I have done fundraising for a few organizations. I have a strong love for all animals and Jess has for the past few years been asking me to help. After taking a break from furry critters I missed rescue and decided to help the scaled ones. I have had a love for the odd and misunderstood since I was young. I always love snakes, turtles, frogs, toads and and salamanders. After getting my first ball python a few years ago I have fallen head over heals for them and am now coined the crazy snake lady to my friends. I am Reptile Invasions first foster and always am willing to find a spot when needed. I also have a very tolerant and patient husband who has an equal love of reptiles and enjoys it as much as i do. I love educating people and helping them conquer their fears. There is nothing better than helping someone overcome the fear of what they don’t understand. We currently have 33 ball pythons, 2 corn snakes, a bearded dragon, a painted river turtle, 4 cats and a dog.

Renee

Renee

Favorite Reptile: Ball Pythons

Renee and Ethan just started coming to events in 2021 and couldn’t stop coming back thanks to Ethan’s love of the snakes. Renee brought her family to an event at the Markets in Hanover and Ethan quickly fell in love with the snakes. Renee had always had a terrible fear of snakes but had wanted to attend events to learn more and teach her three sons not to be scared of them. Since attending events she had a party, and even have geared some of their homeschool lessons around learning more about the reptiles that they have met. They reached out to Jess about volunteering and the rest is history.

Ethan

Ethan

Favorite Reptile: Ball Pythons

Ethan’s favorite part of volunteering is holding all of the snakes and lizards!  Ethan’s family has a miniature dachshund, 4 fish, 2 aquatic frogs and are are in the process of getting their first tank set up because our family is adopted a ball python from Reptile Invasion!

Wyatt

Wyatt

Favorite Reptile: Tegu

Wyatt is 11 years old and has 3 years of experience with reptiles. His favorite reptile is a Tegu. He started volunteering with Reptile Invasion after visiting a show with his mom and talking to Miss Jess and Mr. Brent about bringing his baby alligator and helping at some events. His favorite part about volunteering is seeing and holding all the reptiles. He has 33 animals.

Ashley

Ashley

Favorite Reptile: Turtle

Ashley’s favorite reptile is a turtle. She met Jess and Brent during some local events. Her family followed them for years until her son was old enough and showed an interest in volunteering. Her favorite part of volunteering is watching her son be apart of something he is so passionate about. She has approximately 8 reptiles in our home, including a baby alligator.

Eliza

Eliza

Favorite Komodo Dragons

Eliza has always loved critters, even snakes (much to my mom’s dismay), but she never got to work with any until 2017 when her husband (Dylan) said “What would you think about getting a bearded dragon?” Two beardies became three then four. Then they added a Savannah Monitor, a red tegu, a Colombian boa (adopted from Reptile Invasion), and a crested gecko to their family. They started volunteering after they ran into Jess and Brent at Fish Place and Jess told us to come out to their next event. So they did.
The best part of volunteering, other than holding allllll the critters, is helping people get over their fears. Seeing the look of amazement that a crestie is soft as velvet and not “slimy” or getting someone to hold Taco or Francesca when they’ve always been scared of snakes is the best feeling in the world. As for my favorite reptiles, there are categories. In general it’s the Komodo Dragon and the Gaboon Viper. As far as handleable? Tegus and beardies!

In November of 2019 they bestowed upon her the one and only @lovelylennylizard and from that gateway reptile came Caliban the Crested Gecko and Sol the Bearded Dragon. Amber also has a lot of knowledge in caring for Axolotls so when axolotl rescues come into the rescue she is able to foster them before finding them good homes. Amber loves volunteering and helping educate others about these incredible creatures. Come to one of Reptile Invasions many events and ask about the Tale of Tails.

Nancy

Nancy

Favorite Reptile: Victoria

Favorite Reptile: Mushu

My experience with reptiles started about 10 years ago with a wildlife sanctuary, then as a vet tech, and since then I have been obsessed. I met Reptile Invasion at PetSmart in Hanover. I only went in to buy cat litter, and 3 hours later, I was talking to visitors and loving all the scale babies. I am the proud guardian of a 14 year old boxer, Jasper, a Siamese cat named Chester, 2 horses, and a 1 year old western hognose named Dendar. ” If I have to pick a favorite reptile, don’t tell the others, but it would be Mushu.
